The New York Giants Have Been an Embarrassment

Things were looking very promising for the New York Giants heading into this season. Last season, the Giants exceeded all expectations and finished with a 9-7-1 record, including a hard-fought playoff victory over the Minnesota Vikings in the wild card round. Even though the season ended with a 38-7 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, there was plenty of reason for optimism among NY Giants fans as the new season approached.

Within four weeks, the Giants have shattered any shred of hope and optimism that I and the rest of the fanbase had. Reality hit the NY Giants like a 98MPH fastball to the face in Week 1 of the NFL season when the Dallas Cowboys embarrassed them with a 40-0 defeat. After waiting 8 months to see how the NY Giants would build on such a promising season, I ended up watching an old George Carlin comedy sketch.

Except for an otherworldly second half against the Arizona Cardinals, the NY Giants have been thoroughly outclassed this season in every way possible. The 49ers showed that they were on another level. Despite having 11 days to prepare, the Seahawks chewed the Giants up and spit them out. It appears that Brian Daboll has had it with Daniel Jones. Daniel Jones's brutal Pick 6 to Devin Witherspoon was the straw that broke the camel's back. Daboll ended up tossing a tablet in disgust after confronting Danny Dimes.

Brian Daboll was all of us in that moment. I'm pretty sure a lot of furniture and/or electronics were damaged after that awful interception. The Seahawks tied a franchise record with 11 sacks against the Giants. The NY Giants' offensive line is so bad that I'm considering putting in a call to the Giants organization and trying out for one of the spots. At this point, I'm pretty sure that literally anyone can outdo this awful bunch.

As a result, the NY Giants were unable to take advantage of a passing defense that was ranked near the bottom of the league heading into the game. Regarding the defense, I'm convinced that they haven't done nearly enough tackling drills. The number of missed tackles against the Seahawks was embarrassing.

The secondary and linebacking corps are simply not cutting it. When you add the fact that there's not enough pressure on opposing quarterbacks, the end result is a certified mess. This perfectly describes the NY Giants' defense. As a matter of fact, a "certified mess" is the perfect way to describe the NY Giants as a whole.Given that their next two games are against the high-powered Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills, things look like they're going to get a whole lot messier.
