When Patrick Mahomes lines up under center this season for the Chiefs, he will no longer have Tyriek Hill as a receiving option. The signing of Juju Smith Schuster will fill a bit of the void in Tyriek Hill, but not all. However, Patrick Mahomes will still have the services of the best TE in the game in Travis Kelce as well as the offensive play-calling of Andy Reid.
There is no doubt that Mahomes will have a terrific season. However, the loss of Tyriek Hill will take some explosiveness away from the Chief's offense. Thus, I feel that he will be slightly outpaced by Josh Allen in terms of performance.
Joe Burrow
In spite of the fact that he was sacked 70 times between the regular season and playoffs. Burrow threw for over 5,500 yards (regular season and postseason( and had his team within an eyelash of winning the Super Bowl last year.
The offensive line needed a clear revamp. They added La’el Collins, Ted Karras, and Alex Cappa.
Joe Burrow is clearly going to have more time in the pocket next season. I feel that Burrow will thrive even more and that his statistics will improve based on his increased pass protection.
Tom Brady
There is no doubt that Tom Brady is the ageless wonder. If given time in the pocket, there is no doubt that he will continue to do damage with weapons such as Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. The key component to Tom Brady’s success is whether the Tampa Bay offensive line holds up. After all, the Buccaneers lost to the Rams primarily because due to the subpar performance of the Tampa Bay offensive line.
Unfortunately, the injury of Buccaneers C Ryan Jensen has now raised serious questions about the viability of the interior of their offensive line.
There is no way that anyone can bet against Tom Brady at this point. Nevertheless, he may go as far as his offensive line goes.
