Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady are arguably two of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of the National Football League. Thus, their expectations as well as the expectations of the respective teams are relatively high. We are through 7 weeks of the 2022-2023 season and it appears that the Buccaneers and Packers are headed on a fast-paced trip to mediocrity and beyond. In arguably the biggest upset of the season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost to the Carolina Panthers 21-3. This occurred in spite of the fact that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were favored to beat Carolina by 13 points. They lost to a team who are practically in the midst of a fire sale.

The Panthers have recently rid themselves of Christian McCaffrey and Robbie Anderson. One can see that the Buccaneers were headed for a brutal day on the opening drive. That drive saw Mike Evans drop a wide-open pass from Tom Brady. If Evans had caught it, he could have done the moonwalk into the endzone. Instead, his drop served as a mere foreshadowing of what's to come. The Buccaneers only scoring drive was a mere 27-yard FG when the Bucs were down 21-0. Despite Tom Brady's 290-yard performance, the Buccaneers were still listless. The Buccaneers’ are under .500 with a record of 3-4. Tom Brady hasn’t had a losing record this far into an NFL season since 2002. He needs a hug.

Aaron Rodgers also needs a hug. The Green Bay Packers have issues of their own as they have lost their third game in a row to the Washington Commanders 23-21, the longest losing streak the Packers had in the last four years.
Aaron Rodgers had an anemic performance as he only threw for 194 yards. The Packers did not have a third down conversion all day long. The front four of the Washington Commanders gave Aaron Rodgers the jitters as he continues to play behind an offensive line that is missing David Bakhtiari. The Commanders outgained the Green Bay Packers 364 yards to 232 yards. They dominated in terms of the time of possession from 37:07 to 22:53.

Twitter Criticism

Β

The Packers receivers were either dropping accurate passes from Aaron Rodgers or Rodgers was just flat-out missing the open wide receivers. Either way, it was not a great day. The struggles of Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady have been the struggle of social media fodder. Twitter criticism of Rodgers and Brady was considered "horrific". Some speculators even said that they were "washed".
It would be hard to find two men that could use a hug more than Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady.
